Welcome to Walker County Center of Technology's FIRST Robotics team website. We are the Gear Heads, Team 2918. This site is designed to show how our students are learning more about science and technology through FIRST Robotics.
LEARN ABOUT FIRST
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.
FIRST is More Than Robots. FIRST participation is proven to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM-related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators, and enhance their 21 st century work-life skills.

This site is a blend of several different design components. Adobe Creative Cloud 2015 is what we used in order to bring this idea to life. Illustrator and Photoshop are the platforms used to design graphical backgrounds, logos, and photography. Dreamweaver and Muse is where it all came together.
Site elements were designed using Cascading Style Sheets while widgets handled information consolidation. This was vital in keeping information heavy pages easy to navigate.
Our graphic design team took care of all the photography, video, t-shirt design, and team promotional materials. The team used Sony Vegas, iMovie, Premiere, and After Effects.
Our goal from the beginning was to make sure this site would be user friendly for the team and for the community. We knew we also needed to make sure it was updated with the latest stylistic look and feel.
WE WANT TO SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SPONSORS AND THOSE WHO HAVE ALSO GIVEN OF YOUR TIME. IT IS NO SMALL THING TO BE THERE FOR OUR STUDENTS AS THEY PURSUE THEIR LOVE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.
